Primm begins collaboration with Axxam in the field of high throughput est sequencing
In June 2002, Primm has started a technological collaboration with Axxam in the field of high throughput gene cloning and sequencing. The aim of this collaboration is the setting-up of an automated high throughput sequencing platform, to be used for the creation of large EST collections derived from genomes and tissues of interest to Axxam. The sequence information derived from that program will be used at Axxam for the identification, cloning, characterisation and assay configuration of novel targets and diagnostic markers in the life sciences. This collaboration represents the largest sequencing project so far ever started in Italy. Axxam is a biotechnological company, based in Milan, Italy. Axxam is active in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and agri-chemical sectors with several technology platforms in the fields of genomics and bioinformatics, assay development, screening and lead profiling.
